Description

Description of Work



Proposals will be solicited by the USDA, Forest Service for the Willett Creek Road and Channel Improvement Project for the Bighorn National Forest. The project would restore and enhance approximately 0.7 miles of stream and aquatic habitat, restore and enhance approximately 14.9 acres of riparian habitat, and improve approximately 0.75 miles of road 226 - Woodchuck. Optional Items include road maintenance to NFSR 226 and 277 to allow for access for construction equipment and materials.



Construction includes, but is not limited to, the work shown on the plans, stated in the specifications, and summarized below:



• Install traffic control signs and close work areas



• Install erosion control measures



• Construct new roads



• Install the stream-flow diversion systems



• Clear trees with root wad intact for road construction and stockpile for later use during stream channel and floodplain restoration



• Remove sedge during excavation and stockpile for later use during stream channel and floodplain restoration



• Excavate for the structures



• Place foundation fills and foundations



• Place precast footings



• Place culverts



• Restore streambanks and streambed in new and existing crossings



• Backfill the structures



• Remove stream-flow diversion system and return flow to the channel



• Place aggregate on road surface



• Decommission existing roads and stream restoration



• Final cleanup and site work



Project Location: The Willet Creek Road and Channel Improvement Project site is located approximately 38 miles east of Greybull, Wyoming, on National Forest System Road 226, Bighorn National Forest. The road is single lane, native surface maintained for 4 wheel drive traffic only.



Place of Contract Performance: Bighorn County, Greybull, WY



Contract Time/Period of Performance: The anticipated start date potentially Fall 2023, weather permitting. Work to be completed by October 30, 2024.



Magnitude of the Proposed Project: In accordance with FAR 36.204, the estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.



Solicitation Date: The solicitation is anticipated to be issued on or after June 26, 2023.

The complete solicitation package will be attached and made available only through SAM.gov, https://sam.gov/content/home on or after 15 days of this notice. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition to include amendments. Solicitation/Award Type: This requirement is being solicited as a Small Business set-aside, with the intent to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract. A single award will be made from the solicitation.
